At the end of September our Ivy turned five years old!
We had planned to keep things low key this year, which was just as well as Ivy was recovering from tonsillitis anyway. She spent her birthday at school and we went out bowling in the evening which she loves. Her favourite presents were both music related – a little nursery rhyme piano book and a bright pink Ukulele! She loves learning it with her dad and can already play a few chords.
At five years old:
// Ivy seems so grown up! She’s suddenly got a lot taller and sometimes comes out with the most grown up expressions. I often forget that she is still little as she can be really sensible and eloquent when she wants to be.
// she is equally stubborn and sweet! She definitely knows her own mind but is really caring and loves to be a helper. She is much more shy around people than she every has been, but I guess that comes with growing up. She loves playing with her friends at school and church.
// she loves to learn and is so quick at picking things up. She’s well on her way to ‘free reading’ and enjoys colouring and making things and can keep herself entertained for ages which is nice. She also loves being in the kitchen and preparing food. Her favourite toys/games are snakes and ladders, puzzles and kinetic sand.
// she is still pretty fussy at meal times, but on her good days will try something new. Her favourite food continues to be fish and chips!
// she loves everything pink and always wants to be wearing a dress.
We love you sweet girl!
