Social media, and particularly Instagram has got a lot to answer for when it comes to setting trends. I had never even heard of open pumpkin patches, lavender fields and sunflower fields a few years ago but now they seem to be popping up all over the place and everyone is talking about it.
I’m all for embracing a cliché if it means I can get some lovely photos though, so when I heard that Pembrokeshire had its very own sunflower field I made sure to drag everyone along despite it being a dull day!
It was quite an amazing sight and the kids loved exploring the sunflower forest, even when we lost the path and had to trudge through lots of prickles! (my flip-flopped feet didn’t appreciate it so much).
I don’t have time to indulge my love of photography much any more, and most of my snaps are quick phone photos so it’s good to dust of the old DSLR occasionally and capture some proper family portraits.
The ownders have closed the field for harvest now, so we made it just in time. I would definitely recommend a visit next year if you’re in the area.
